The Inspiration
My husband and I were chatting late one night with the candles lit and about to head to bed when I peeked my eyes out and saw the northern lights glimmering from our window. I jumped up so fast and ran outside! We had a mug of tea and sat out there for two hours enjoying the wild sky. One side of the sky was filled with stars and a crescent moon while the other side sparkled with the northern lights. It was an unforgettable experience, and a few days later I started painting this in the studio. I wasn’t even aware at the time of painting it that it was influenced by the northern lights, but knew quickly after creating it that this piece is “Aurora” and 100% was inspired by that night. It’s crazy cool how our unconscious mind can paint.
